If your having panic attacks and/or anxiety this is your new anxiety bible. It will help teach you how to handle these experiences and keep them under control or from even happening. It works great, I go back to it whenever I’m over stressed and the anxiety/panic comes back.

This is not a self-help book and you not only need to go through it with a qualified provider (they have a provider version of the book also) but you will need to DO THE EXERSICES; ALL OF THEM.

This must be one of the best anxiety/panic disorder manuals ever written. THIS is the book that taught me critical information in conquering my agoraphobia and depression: particularly the detailed descriptions about WHY panic symptoms occur and HOW they are not harmful (i.e., digestive issues because blood flow away from those organs, dizziness because excess oxygen to brain, etc). The scientific information is very informative, and the tone of the authors is, I find, compassionate and understanding. An impressive feat!

Take note, I have suffered from these issues for years, and with the amazing guidance/support of my therapist, I think this workbook is helping me reach a breakthrough! THE THINKING SKILLS WORKSHEETS ARE SO HELPFUL. I cannot even count the number of times I''ve created a "pie" diagram to compare my feared outcome vs. other realistic outcomes (those who have read this workbook will understand).

Even those who don''t struggle with anxiety and related issues should read this book. It contains deets about human physiology, and thinking strategies that you can apply to other issues... i.e. how to rationalize worst case scenarios, how to accept what is fixed, etc.

I often use the ''Treatment That Works'' workbooks with clients in our CBT practice. I find that they are really useful in helping the client to focus on the work that they need to do in-between sesions. It is also very useful for those clients who prefer to engage in therapy ''on-line'' or by telephone rather than face-to-face. If you (the client) commit to putting the time in to working through each chapter, it can really help you to address and overcome the issues of anxiety / panic that you are currently experiencing. As with many of the series of workbooks, this particular workbook on ANXIETY & PANIC can be used as a ''Self-Help'' workbook. If you feel that you may not need the support of a CBT therapist, I would suggest that this is one of the better workbooks on the market. The author is very credible and highly respected in the field of CBT. You could always consult with a CBT therapist if you feel that you need more than the workbook offers. If so, ask if they have heard f the workbook and whether they will be prepared to use it as part of your therapy sessions. This could lead to you needing less sessions with the therapist and thereby save you money!

I learned to practically disassemble my panic attacks which allowed me to use the energy in a healthy way. I highly recommend this workbook to anybody suffering from anxiety and panic attacks.
